In the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office, we have one mission: make government work better. Our Office is responsible for the audit of Tennessee’s state and local governmental entities and participates in the general financial and administrative management and oversight of state government. This includes ensuring effective administration of local property tax. Today, our Office is made up of 12 divisions, each overseeing unique functions. The Office is led by Comptroller of the Treasury Jason E. Mumpower, a Constitutional Officer who is elected by the Tennessee General Assembly. We believe our success depends on finding opportunities for employees to accomplish our mission and respond to challenges that make our Office and Tennessee better. We want every member of our team to be excited to come to work every day. Through dedicated hard work and commitment, every member of the Comptroller's Office accepts personal responsibility to accomplish our mission and uphold it.
